Poolside Sloshing
I was in this pool. I was in this world. I created the waves on a surface once placid.
I removed myself from this pool, and the effects of my movements within it stayed a while.
I jerked right, and the water did. I slapped the top like in a tantrum, and it barked back at me with slapping sounds.
And when I removed myself, it calmed on its own.
But the light danced on it, as if within it. The sky had a different story – an amused one, looking both down and up on my gesticulations in this mini-world.
So I came home and painted it – trying to immortalize the struggle and the dance within the pool.
Or the evidence of a life lived in one way at one time.
